If you think about how many companies are using social media as their primary method to connect to new clients, you can imagine on the receiving end of how many people are bombarded with ads from companies trying to gain their attention.  This has caused a decline in the attention span of users.  They are no longer stopping to read every post, every ad and every survey.

This means we need to focus on who the specific audience is and what they get excited about in social media posts.  Here are four trends that will help you gain the attention of your social media visitors.

 

#1 – Ephemeral Marketing

Simply summarized, it is an ad campaign that lasts no longer than 24 hours.  It is a brief offer that requires you to take advantage immediately such as a buy one – get one free offer or pay for 3 hours of limo service and get a 4th hour free.  This type of campaign is intended to bring people back to your site every day.  It could be known as the Deal of The Day or Fantastic Friday Fares.

 

#2 – Personal Personas

People like to interact with people they view as being like themselves.  Your content needs to be focused on who your clients really are.  Are they the corporate jet-setters or the retired leisure travelers?  Consider creating “personas” or fake people that “interact” on your page sharing their “experiences” with your offers and your service.  Make your persona so interesting that people want to read what the persona posts.  Have your persona share stories from a personal level that readers can identify with.

 

#3 – Implement Chat Bots 

Chat bots are software programs than simulate human-like conversations.  They are great for customer service.  It is estimated that 30% of all business conversations will be done by chat bots by 2018.  Chat bots can respond to customer inquiries 24/7.  Chat bots create the experience of a one-on-one conversation even though they aren’t really human.  They provide immediate answers, solutions and information based on the conversation.

 

#4 – Livestreaming and Broadcasting

When you go “live” on Facebook, your followers are notified that you are now “live” and can CHOOSE to watch.  That’s the beauty.  If they choose to watch, they are interested in what you have to say or what you are streaming.  Make it worth their time as you now have a captive audience.
