Strategies for Engaging Your Limo Customers on Facebook

Social media is all about creating conversations and generating discussion-basically everything that goes into engagement. We think that creating engagement on social media is an art. There's a real alchemy to it that can, almost literally, turn conversations into gold, and today we're going to show you how to work some of that magic in favor of your limo business.


Keep It Real


For starters, you can't just phone the whole thing in. Yes, you can totally automate some things (and you should), but there comes a point when your audience needs to hear from you. Not just your brand, not just your page-they need to see that there are actual people behind the flashy images and cool content.


Facebook is the easiest of the social networks for getting a good conversation going. You don't need to hashtag everything to keep track, and conversations are threaded just like old-school bulletin-board systems. In short, everybody gets to see every exchange in the conversation, and they get to interact with you as well as other customers or potential customers.


Start a Conversation


It's always a good idea to be the one who breaks the ice or suggests a topic to discuss. The topics you choose need to be simultaneously about your company and the customer. There should always be a "you" and an "us" in the question, but beware of bluntly asking things like "Why do you love us?" or "What's your favorite thing about us?" Learn to be more subtle, and be willing to share the spotlight.


We recommend keeping this positive and not delving into things like "Anyone got any limo service nightmares to share?" You can bring those stories to the surface by approaching it from another angle. Try: "What do you think sets AAA Limo apart from other services you've booked with?" The horror stories can be funny, but you want the emphasis to be on how good your service is, not how awful the competition's is.


It's also really smart to include a clear call to action that tells readers to leave a comment. If you want to test the effectiveness of this, try starting two conversations: one where you just pose a question and one that's tagged with "let us know in the comments," and see which one gets better engagement.


Remember to Up the "Wow!" Factor with Great Content


Before you can start a conversation, you need to get the reader's attention. That means that, just like with anything else on social media, you need to start with great visuals that get the reader to stop scrolling and notice what you've posted. Once they decide they like your picture, they'll be more apt to read the caption that goes along with it. That caption is the conversation starter we just mentioned.
